Does Your Pet Have Cat Arthritis?

window Just like us, our cats can also develop arthritis as the result of cartilage and joint wear and tear. As in human arthritis, this causes the bones to rub together and causes joint pain and inflammation.

Unfortunately your cat cannot tell you that something is wrong, so you will need to watch for the following symptoms; is she walking with a stiff gait, or does she seem to be in obvious pain whilst walking? Is he becoming reluctant to play, or does she cry out sometimes when you touch her or pick her up? Have you noticed that she is generally becoming less active and no longer jumps onto the counter like she used to? Is she going to the toilet outside her litter tray because she can no longer get in and out of it easily?

If she is displaying any of these symptoms, take her to the vet and discuss them with him. He will be able to test to rule out any other causes for the symptoms and diagnose arthritis if appropriate.
